A planet of hype

You can tell I'm bored don't you?

(And if you're wondering, it's a coincidence that the previous image and this image both have round images included. And on another note, Apple/ Mac has their Desktop icons on the right side of the screen.)

Yeea >.>

Bored

I picked up Robert Ludlum again after going through my bookshelf.

Above Image: By yours truly (Feel free to download it. Makes more a good desktop wallpaper too) Lol.

Retrospect

Catch!, originally uploaded by rixban.

The end of the month is coming, with a loong weekend to boot. Personally, I'm going to use that to my advantage to clean out my room, but buy some stuff (like stationery, files and folders).

Looking at how I have just entered Week 6 (week three for those in IAP/OIAP) of my Internal attachment, I realise that I haven't done much actually. Everything's moving at an extremely slow pace (not to say I'm not doing work, because I have... just...very slowly.)

Then the past few days, all i have been doing in my spare time is been taking pictures of Amber. Ever since he got that bear/ball chewtoy, he's been playing with it non-stop until he grows tired and falls asleep. And then I wonder, maybe it's at some point in this sem, I should just rest and work in bursts because that's exactly how my magazine will turn out. The whole chunk of layout/ design and proofreading will be done 4 weeks before it's sent for printing?

So why not just do my work at the pace I'm at now. Then chiong to the finish.

Note: Dig the chewtoy out from under the fridge

P.S: When exactly do i end my attachment? I wonder.

NowPublic - Crowd Powered Media

So I get this mail in my GMail, forwarded from my flickr account. The title said that "Your HSBC photo".

Curious, I click on it to view. Turns out that this writer from nowpublic.com had wrote a piece on how HSBC fired 1100 employees and was looking for pictures related to HSBC.

View here for the 'story'.

(Yes allow me to indulge in a little egotism for awhile -.-)

Thoughts on the 2008 F1 Singapore GP

The motorsports fever in Singapore is in fullswing as the government opened up a site in Changi for proposals to build it into a permanent racetrack.

This race track however, will be a Grade 2 racetrack* and will not be able to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Motorsports fans in Singapore can look forward to races like the A1GP, MotoGP, Japan GP, as well as many other races. Testing of cars and driving training courses can also be conducted on the race track.

The race track should be between 2.8km to 3.5km or more, making it one of the most compact and efficient race track in Asia. The government is looking at a seating capacity of 15,000 or more, with the possibility of adding temporary structures to accomodate more seatings.

With the seafront location, the track is set to be one of the most scenic in the region. The estimated cost is set to be around $84 million, with no government funding, and is expected to be completed by 2011.

The government has also indicated their clear interest in pursuing a motorsports industry in Singapore, with plans to not only involve Singaporeans as spectators, but a chance to develop motorsports talent in the Republic. "A chance for a driving school perhaps... some kind of academy that'll give the driver a chance to get on the pathway. It will allow the masses to enjoy this, not only as a spectator but also to drive," said Oon Jin Teik, CEO of Singapore Sports Council.

Yes, motorsports industry is an industry that can bring in WADS of cash but think of the petrol wasted on a 'sport' that takes a car round and round in circles (say about 5 dozen times?). As much as i love motorsports, well, not the F1 exactly, but 4WD, im gonna leave talk about social morals aside and introduce THIS (see below)

In a country that is scarce for land, why don't Singapore take that step in the future of motorracing and build a multi-storey racing track. It is much more land efficient, and on days where there are no races, it can double as a creatively built multi-storey carpark.

Go figure.

Why?

Ver. 19.0.2

This years birthday has been pretty something. Some things turned out okay, somethings didn't.. But thats okay, everything was just the way it was suppose to be.

A good percentage of my Year 1 classmates (plus candy and ph) surprised me with 19 nuggets, i didnt count.

I drove to my own birthday 'party', only to be shared by my two uncles who were celebrating their chinese birthdays.

And then I tucked down to a nice dinner with my dear and sat at the steps of the bay while she surprised me with a light-up pen cup- holder and a leather clip-on handphone pouch (which has that rich leather smell i enjoy so much).

T-shirts & Birthday angbaos are usually the staple gifts i get every year. But somehow, i would (kinda) give it all up for good company.

P.s: Thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday. =D

P.S.S: SIMPANG arh on Sat night! Meng, ballot for the car. Haha!

Ver. 19.0.1

Now updated with "driving" function

P.S: Happy Birthday to the Merlion too. Lol.

"On 15 September 1972, then- Prime Minister LKY officiated the installation ceremony of the Merlion statue.[1] The original Merlion statue used to stand at the mouth of the Singapore River at the tip of the current The Fullerton Waterboat House Garden with Anderson Bridge as its background." - Wiki (From where else?)

Vroom

That was a thousand well-spent. Though i do apologise to my colleagues who haven't seen me in the office the past week because I was at Kg Ubi squeezing in practise time.

Oh Well, attachment OFFICIALLY begins on 15th Sept. (An apt time i might add). So I believe it should kick start off my busy days. Although I have done all that I can for now, I just need to wait for writers to come in. -.- If not whats there to edit. Logic right?

License, check.

Thanks to that random aunty who gave me 2 bucks to pay for my passport photo, "Thank you".

Check.

Baby, You're Not Lost

Not the TV show, the song from Michael Buble.

Everytime this song played in my working place, i always wondered what was the song title. Especially since i have nothing else better to do but mindlessly wipe the counter I'm towering over, over and over again when it's already clean. So when this song plays, i get this urge to go to the backroom and take the CD out and find the title.

So it seems that i decided to borrow the CD home today. =D

Refreshed on a Sunday

Sometimes it just takes a little to try out new things, for example, a different dining experience to get things going again.

Another post concerning sleep

The past few days, my body seems to be telling me to sleep earlier. even before 2AM. Still adjusting to 9am workshift i suppose.
